Marriage

The marriage contract is not extant but a note of a bond, dated 4 October 1488 between Kighley and John Stede, yoeman, of Stede, by which they bind themselves to Thomas Gascoigne in the sum of £100 to observe certain conditions not here specified. Upon which bond it is noted that it referred to a marriage between William, the younger brother of Thomas Gascoigne, and Kighley's daughter Margaret. [Rev F S Colman]
